BUYER’S PREMIUM
The buyer shall pay the hammer price together with a premium, at the following rate, thereon.
25% up to ?500,000 / 20% thereafter.
VAT will be charged on the premium at the rate imposed by law (see our Conditions of Sale)
REGISTRATION
All potential buyers must register prior to placing a bid. Registration information may be submitted in person at our registration desk, by email, or on our website. Please note that first-time bidders, and those returning after an extended period, will be asked to supply the following documents in order to facilitate registration:
1 - Government issued photo ID (Passport/Driving Licence)
2 - Proof of address (utility bill/bank statement).
When registering for a Whisky & Spirits auction we reserve the right to ask buyers for identification to prevent fraud, underage purchases and/or any other legal or legitimate purpose.
By registering for the sale, the buyer acknowledges that he or she has read, understood and accepted our Conditions of Sale.
BIDDING LIMITS & HIGH VALUE LOTS (?)
Clients who wish to bid on lots marked in the catalogue with a ? may be requested by Lyon & Turnbull to supply financial references, a deposit and/or such other security as Lyon & Turnbull may require in its absolute discretion as security for the bid.
Please note that online bidders who have provided identification will be capped at ?50,000 limit.

LOTS HELD IN BOND (B)
Lots marked with a B symbol are currently held in bond.
A bid is an agreement to purchase this lot in bond. Should the buyer wish to receive this item duty paid this must be arranged directly with the bonded warehouse following purchase, with any fees/duties etc. handled directly between the buyer and the bonded warehouse.
Please note that there may be an administration charge made by the warehouse for processing paperwork for the goods to be exported under bond. Any such charge is the sole responsibility for the buyer and is a matter between the warehouse and the buyer or their agent. VAT is applicable on all other fees
COLLECTION OF PURCHASED LOTS
Responsibility for packing, shipping and insurance shall be exclusively that of the purchaser. Lots 2 to 11 will be available for collection from Lyon & Turnbull, 33 Broughton Place, Edinburgh, EH1 3RR by appointment. Call 0131 557 8844 to book.
COLLECTIONS UNDER THE LICENSING (SCOTLAND) ACT

- Collection of any purchases from our Whisky & Spirits auctions will not be permitted before 10am
- All collections must be signed for by a person over the age of 18. We reserve the right to ask for ID from the person collecting.
RELEASE AND STORAGE OF LOT 1
Lot 1 is stored in bond at Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky Ltd, King St, Huntly AB54 8HP.
After the auction the successful buyer of lot 1 will be required to make direct contact with Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky Ltd where the lot is being stored directly to arrange for the transfer of the lot they have purchased to a private bond account if they already have an existing account with the warehouse. Please note that the warehouse have advised that creating a new bond account will not be accepted. The successful buyer must arrange for the lot to be collected within 3 months of the auction.
UK based Revenue Traders who have not been granted WOWGR (Warehousekeepers and Owners of Warehoused Goods Regulations) status by HMRC are not able to legally items held in bond and should not, therefore, bid on these lots, without a duly appointed representative.
If they are a revenue trader outside the UK, they will need to have a Duty Representative in the UK (the Duty Rep would be registered with HMRC and there is usually an annual charge for their services).
Please note that liability for loss and damage on items in bond passes to the buyer upon the fall of the hammer.
CATALOGUE DESCRIPTIONS
Alcohols are catalogued as accurately as possible at the time of going to print. However, purchasers must take into consideration the natural variations and conditions of cases, labels, ullages, corks and wines. Lyon & Turnbull Ltd. are unable to accept returns.
All item descriptions, dimensions and estimates are provided for guidance only. It is the buyer’s responsibility to inspect all lots prior to bidding to ensure that the condition is to their satisfaction. Our specialists will be happy to prepare condition reports and additional images. These are for guidance only and all lots are sold ‘as found’, as per our Conditions of Sale.
