This sale presents a selection of 181 objects (LOT#27 to LOT#208) from the collection of Mr. Jacques Bardac and his family. Mr. Jacques Bardac (French) served as the representative of Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank in Peiping, China in 1920. He has acted as the financial agent of French government in China during the republican period. Mr. Jacques Bardac maintained close contact with people from all walks of life in China. He made friends with many French sinologists and related friends through business contacts and with their assistance, he owned a batch of Chinese ancient artworks of various types, including porcelain, Buddha statues and so on.
