A Shiwan ceramic Budai figure with a wood stand dating from the late 18th - 19th century. His robe is Ge glazed, and his skin texture is bare ceramic. The Budai is shown reclining with his left hand resting on a pillow and his right on his knee with a string of prayer beads. Dimensions are: the figure measures 6 1/4 inches tall X 8 1/2 inches wide, and the stand measures 1 inch tall X 8 1/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Minor wear to the glaze and glaze skips, and 1 of the figure's nipples is missing.
