A watercolor and ink painting of a bird on a branch by Zhao Shaoang (1905-1998)and given to Dongming. The painting is on paper with a signature and 1 seal and is mounted on a silk backing with a wood dowel. Dimensions are 26 1/2 inches tall X 13 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Several tears and some staining. Provenance: From the estate of a Silver Spring, Maryland woman whose father was Yu Jishi, a top Nationalist general and a close confidant of Chiang Kai-shek.
