A Japanese bronze champlevé enamel table lamp
Meiji period (1868-1912)
The lamp is of lantern form, decorated with openwork circular panels enclosing the Tokugawa mon of a triple hollyhock in coloured enamels, all surrounded by vine scrolls and flowers, reserved on a ground of further vines and mon. The interior is fitted with a pink fabric lampshade. The stand is decorated with an band of confronting peacock and flower bands above a spearhead floral band, all on a diamond ground in low relief.

Condition:
A repaired curved crack to the base and a small repair to the foot (2 cm. wide).
Surface wear.
Light pitting to the enamels.
