A Chinese square-section cloisonné enamel censer and cover

二十世紀 掐絲琺瑯饕餮紋方蓋爐
The flaring body decorated in an archaic style with a taotie mask below a pair of confronting kui dragons and a further geometric band by the rim. The sides are fixed with two gilt bronze loose rectangular-ring lion head handles, and the censer stands on four scroll-form feet. The domed square-section cover decorated with four further taotie masks below an openwork gilt bronze bat and cloud panel and is surmounted by a Buddhist lion finial.

Condition:
Some losses, fine cracks, and repairs to the enamels.
A few patches of verdigris to the finial.
Old repair to the upper section of the cover,
One handle on the censer has been resoldered.
Four small apertures to the base, most likely incurred during manufacture.
