A pair of Chinese spinach jade table screens. They are rectangular in shape and depict idealized mountain scenery with mountains, clouds, pine trees, a pagoda with two sages crossing a bridge and cypress emerging from rocks. The foreground features three sages examining a scroll on a cliff over a waterfall. The second screen features clouds coming down the mountains on a lake with a two-sailed boat. Among the pine trees is a pagoda, a pavilion and a two-level house with cypress trees growing from rocks. Further down the mountain shows two very old pine trees and a tree with fan-shaped leaves across a stone bridge with water roaring under it into a chasm as a sage and attendant cross. The stands are carved hardwood with rectangular cradle sides carved into Lingzhi clouds. Below. A lotus plant is surrounded by narrow posted carved gallery which has sides that are decorated with foliate scroll. The base is scroll-shaped with a pierced skirt adorned with stylized lotus and vine.
