A Very Fine pale celadon jade two piece carved moon flask censer with matching cover. Its shape means ?embracing the moon? and consists of a circular flattened body signifying the moon, a flat base, tubular neck and 2 applied handles which arch gracefully, descend on either side to create an ?embrace? between neck and body. The body terminates into a raised foot. However, in this case, the handles do not arch and fall gracefully; rather they are carved in stylized Shou shapes and stiff. This moon flask also does have a domed cover which is trapezoid-shaped and has a domed knop. Nice translucence.
