A Chinese Ming porcelain meiping vase with blue glazed on a grayish celadon ground. The wine jug body rises from a narrow base to wide shoulders and then to a very short narrow neck terminating in a curved rim. It is very stoutly potted and displays several small blue flowers under the rim. A collar of stylized lotus and vine around the shoulders and several other widening floral bands garland the shoulders. The body is encircled with two phoenixes a random pattern of Lingzhi clouds and a key-fret diaper surmounting a wide band of stylized lotus petals. JiaJing reign mark, Ming Dynasty
