From The Collections of Joe Roy Adams, 1929-2015 Birmingham Alabama. In 1947 Joe Adams received a baseball scholarship to Mississippi State University, graduating from college his next move was to join the US Marines and was assigned as a forward observer for the 105-155 Howitzer Artillery, 12th Marines-3rd Marine division. His professional career was as a Jobber Representative with Sinclair Oil, and with Shell Oil these positions allowed him to travel the pacific rim and enjoyed several years in mainland China. It was there that Mr. Adams was intrigued by the art and history of the area and developed a keen eye for some of the true treasures. It was not unusual for him to venture out of the region and pick up items of interest. While some of his purchases were common and ordinary many are true collectables. The sale of his estate will go to various charities in the area where he was born and was raised a true tribute to the man that Joe Roy Adams was. The Collections of Joe Roy Adams presented and offered up to auctions from Lot-94 through Lot-110, and continued from Lot-241 through Lot-256.
