These cups are beautifully potted and exquisitely decorated. The deep sides rise from a small circular foot to terminate in a wide rim. The exteriors are ornately covered with an allover floral pattern in a famille rose palette below a gilded rim. The Mille Fleur decoration, means the thousand flowers design. The design symbolized all the flowers bestow their blessings. The dense millefleurs design features naturalistic blossoming peonies, chrysanthemums, hibiscus, morning glories, roses, lotus flowers, daisies, lilies and pinks amidst an abundance of foliage, the mouth rims with gilt bands.
