拍品描述 翻译
China. Finely carved in the form of a recumbent rabbit, the legs tucked below the body, with a pointed tail, almond shaped eyes, and finely incised fur hairs. The translucent stone is of an cream-white color with orange-red and honey-colored areas as well as deep red inclusions. With an excellent polish, rendering an unctuous feel overall.Provenance: E & J Frankel, New York, before 1983. Collection of Salvatore Monteleone, acquired from the above, and thence by descent within the family to the last owner. A copy of an appraisal document from E & J Frankel, dated 12 July 1983, confirming the dating above, accompanies the lot. E & J Frankel was a major New York gallery specializing in Asian Art since 1967. Leaders in their field, the Frankels traveled the world in search of Asian art treasures and educated the general public about their shared passion. Their gallery on Madison Avenue in New York City became a local institution, best known for its regular schedule of innovative thematic exhibitions, and frequently visited by the biggest names in the field, such as Eskenazi, Ellsworth, Junkunc, and the Alsdorfs.
