The heavily potted archaistic "hu" vase painted on the exterior in copper-red enamel with a leaping dragon emerging from crested waves, base inscribed with a six-character Kang Hsi reign mark, 11.7 inch high. Provenance: From the estate of Mrs. Mamie Howe, Long Island, New York, who worked for Sotheby Parke Bernet, Hong Kong during 1960's, see item 2 on Charlotte Horstmann Oriental Art receipt dated September 12, 1964.
