A beautiful example of the Chinese metal arts that shines bright and colorful as if it had been made today.A millefleur motif cloisonn?? snuff bottle with sterling silver base and mouth that has a matching top. The top has a gilded silver spoon. I believe the top is original to the bottle as it fits exactly. The workmanship is very fine. The details are so minute. You can see stamens and color gradations in the flowers. The colors are bright and the mouth and base shine with polished silver. There is a small hardwood stand that fits the bottle tightly. The enamel colors are muted and pastel with a turquoise background enamel. There are no silver or maker marks or labels. The bottle is from an old Seattle estate collection.MEASUREMENTS 2 ??a€ (5.7 cm) tall (without stand). 2 5/8a€ (6.7 cm) tall (with stand). 1 ??a€ (3.2 cm) wide. Weighs 1.5 oz (45 g)CONDITION The bottle has no cracks, chips or breaks. There is a dark area by one flower near the neck which may be a manufacture flaw. Otherwise the enamels are fresh and bright. The base and mouth have polished up brightly. The spoon still has a gold shiny color.A wonderful example of the metal arts on this miniature snuff bottle. It would be a great addition to a snuff bottle collection.Item ID: A-1940
