Guangxu mark and period bowl and plate. The thinly potted bowl and plate have so much handwork and painting.The outside of both the bowl and plate is smothered with a myriad of flowers painted in yellow, blue, pink, green, and violet over glaze enamels on a black background. Thin black lines have been used to outline and accent the design. There is a thin gilt edge to the plate. The inside of the bowl and underside of the plate were left unpainted. The bowl and plate are both thinly-potted slight off-white porcelain, which is thin enough to be translucent. You can see the pottera€?s wheel marks under the base glaze. The foot rings are cut and are not glazed. The bases are glazed. There are the six character hand painted marks on both plate and bowl in red of the Guangxu emperor.MEASUREMENTS Bowl 4 ??a€ (11.4 cm) diameter x 2a€ (5.1 cm) tall. The gilt edge on the plate is slightly worn. The glazes are fresh and not worn. The pieces have no cracks, chips or breaks. The pieces ring true.A beautiful pair of porcelains marked in period during the Guangxu emperors reign.
