Rare unusual chocolate pot made in China for the west. It is decorated simply in black and gold over glaze enamels.The white porcelain vessel has tall cylindrical shape with a rounded shoulder, a pronounced spout, and handle that juts out perpendicular from the body. The spout has bumps like a branch or piece of coral, and the handle has bumps and ridges for easy gripping. The pot and lid are decorated with gilt and black designs. The round lid has a gilded peach finial.The lid has an unglazed lip edge that matches an unglazed mouth rim on the pot. The shallow cut foot ring is not glazed. The base is glazed. There are vent holes on the shoulder opposite the spout and a pair of holes on the lid edge. There are no porcelain marks.MEASUREMENTS 8 ??a€ (20.6 cm) tall x 5a€?
