Artistic, expertly hand painted, well potted porcelain vase that has the look of a vase from the Kangxi era, although it is likely later. The potting is thin enough to show the shadow of your hand when held against a light.Thinly potted white porcelain that has a mountain scene painted in under glaze cobalt blue. The cobalt is a nice dark deep blue. The body glaze is a nice white with hardly any bluish cast. The glaze feels smooth, slick, and unctuous. It looks shiny. The shape of the vase is a classic Kangxi Rouleau shape. The round banded mouth undercuts to a cylindrical neck with a ridge near the shoulder. The shoulder rounds to an ovoid body which then tapers to a round slightly raised foot. The foot ring is not glazed but the base. The foot ring is rough. There is good glaze control. Just stopping above the foot.MEASUREMENTS 8 1 /8a€ (20.6 cm) tall x 3 ??a€ (8.9 cm) diameter. Weighs 13.4 oz (380 g)CONDITION The vase has no chips or breaks. There is a concussion mark on the mouth rim. It is small and does not show. There are small kiln flaws like black spots and minute dimples. There are small irregular wear marks.A work of art on a white background that is visually compelling. The painting just draws you in. ___________________To receive special offers please sign up directly from our personal website which Ruby Lane shop's home page.
