Interesting indented square-sided bowl with a veritable book of botanic illustrations. There are magnolias in bloom with hibiscus, tree peony, cherry-blossoms, chrysanthemum, roses, and lotus.A porcelain square sided deep bowl with a raised foot.. The painting is very delicate with tiny marks and shading on the branches. There are 5 blossoms painted in the central well of the bowl. The designs are painted in pink, white, green, red, and gray over glaze enamels with black used to outline and accent. Iron brown has been painted on the mouth rim.The potting shows through the glaze as ripples or waves. The rounded foot ring is not glazed but the base is. The foot feels smooth from refined clay and from being moved on surfaces. The glaze is thick, smooth and looks shiny.MEASUREMENTS 5 ??a€ (14.0 cm) x 5 ??a€ (14.0 cm) x 2 5/8a€ (6.7 cm) tall. Weighs 13.6 oz (385 g)CONDITION There are two rim chips. One is tiny and not very noticeable and one is more noticeable because of the rim brown missing. The glazes are bright and fresh.An interesting shaped bowl that is very well painted with its myriad of flowers.
