A lovely serving dish with fun, detailed, colorful, and minute designs.A heavy, ovoid large porcelain serving dish with shallow sides decorated with colorful butterflies in all sorts of sizes and poses. The butterflies were painted in yellow, iron red, blue, white, and green. Gold and black were used to outline and accent. Both the top and bottom edges of the cavetto have a red band. The outside has paintings of pink roses with green foliage placed equidistant from each other. The base white glaze is not a brilliant white but has a very slight bluish tinge to it. There is no foot. The flat base is unglazed with burnt orange spotting. There are no porcelain marks or labels.MEASUREMENTS11 1/8a€ (28.3 cm) long x 8 5/8a€ (21.9 cm) wide x 1 ??a€ (3.8 cm) tall. There is an enamel loss or chip on the inside near the mouth on a butterfly (see area circled in one of the attached photos).
