The wind is blowing grasses in the distance and there are clouds in the sky.A heavily potted eight-sided porcelain dish with a shallow foot. The glaze covering the dish is thick, smooth, and looks shiny. It has a slight blue tint to it. Under glaze cobalt has been painted on first in a design then fired. Iron red and gold over glaze enamels were then painted over the cobalt and the piece was fired for a second time. The painting is exact and experienced. The rim has been painted with a repeating diaper pattern. The back has been painted with a repeating octopus design. There is a repeating hoop like pattern above the foot. The unglazed foot feels very smooth and refined. There are chatter marks under the base glaze.MEASUREMENTS 7 ??a€ (19.7 cm) x 7 ??a€ (19.7 cm) x 2 3/8a€ (6.0 cm) tall.
