An over-the-top Victorian silver plate cake basket with a central medallion of birds in a nest that still shines with much silver. The silver is still intact and shines brightly. There is extensive repousse work with bands of flowers, insects, leaves and geometric flourishes. The central well of the basket is an absolutely lovely repousse design of bird parents with their nest of eggs set amongst flowers and branches.A stamped mark on the base of the basket reads, a€?ROGERS & BRO.
