Bright, like-new, childa€?s ABC plate from the late 19th century that has the Aesthetic Movement touch of a Japanese fan with birds. I love the little donkeya€?s expression.A light-weight ceramic with a lobed edge that has a thin pearl glaze. It has a black transfer pattern of a donkey and Japanese fan. The donkey is looking hungrily at the thistles. The border is decorated with a vine and the alphabet letters. There is a slight glazed foot. The base is also glazed. There is the mark W ADAMS & Co TUNSTALL ENGLAND in black transfer on the base.MEASUREMENTS 8a€ (20.3 cm) diameter x ??a€ (1.9 cm) tall. Weighs 9.8 oz (280 g)CONDITION There is a small rim chip, but otherwise there are no cracks or breaks. The plate rings true. There is some wear near the chip on the rim, although the transfer and glaze are bright and shiny. There are kiln flaws like dimples and transfer smudges. An unusual subject matter and near perfect condition will make this plate a great addition to your collection or to your English d??cor.Item ID: Pot-1771
