The feel of this hand blown glass is so soft, silky and smooth. So much time and handwork went into its manufacture.A heavy, hand blown cased glass vase in the shape of a handled ewer. The shaping of the glass has taken some elaborate turns. The mouth is flared and pinched to form a spout. The clear glass handle has ridges that remind me of a tree branch. The body of the vase has been tapered from the neck down to the foot. The color of the glass is a deep pink gradating to a white at the base. It has white inner glass layer. The vase front has been decorated a pretty little painted bird on a branch surrounded by gold beads representing leaves or flowers on branches. Traceries of lines forming branches has been painted in faint black. The exterior surface has a nice polished matte look and feels very soft and smooth. The vase has a flat base with a polished pantile mark.MEASUREMENTS 9a€ (22.9 cm) tall x 3 ??a€ (8.9 cm) diameter. Weighs 14 oz (395 g)CONDITION There is a chip on the corner of the handle, and another small chip by the handle base. This may have been a manufacturing error. Because the handle glass is clear, they are not noticeable. There is an abrasion on the front shoulder. There is wear to the glass but the vase looks perfect. The paintings are all intact. A light from behind will make this vase glow. Colorful, delicate with age makes this piece stand out. A true work of glass art. ___________________To receive special offers please sign up directly from our personal website which you can find under "favorite links" on our Ruby Lane shop's home page.
