Funny little blue goldfish decorate this small bowl. The blue is an old smoky blue with glazes that are so smooth and unctuous. They feel like butter.The mouth of the bowl has a ring painted around the rim. There are blue eddies simulating water with five small goldfish. They have big eyes, scales and small wispy tails. The white of the bowl has a bluish cast. The outer bowl has a shiny, even soft brown glaze. The bowl has a raised foot ring with an unglazed foot. The unglazed foot is extremely smooth. The base is glazed and you can see the pottera€?s wheel rings under the glaze. The bowl is thinly potted and covered with the smoothest and softest glaze. This is a bowl to be held and fondled.There are no porcelain marks or labels. The bowl is very much in the style of porcelains of the Ming Dynasty, but mostly likely produced in the 19th Century (Qing Dynasty).MEASUREMENTS 4a€ (10.2 cm) diameter x 2a€ (5.1 cm) tall.
