Fanciful fun folk art from China, that is useful and decorative. The green glaze is just right for the playful frog spout.Ceramic teapot and matching lid were glazed with a thin green glaze. The pot was glazed on the interior with an ochre colored glaze. The pot was given a ridged bamboo influenced handle and a frog with bulging eyes spout. The pot was wrapped in a well-executed reed basket tea cozy. The basket is not removable without destroying it. The round lid has a button finial with a scalloped design that is accentuated with a hole for decoration.There are no marks or labels that I can see on the pot. The lid underside has the number 13 etched in the clay.MEASUREMENTS 7a€ (17.8 cm) long x 6a€ (15.2 cm) diameter x 6 ??a€ (15.9 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 8.5 oz (690 g)CONDITION There are no cracks or chips. The basket is in good shape.What a cool thing.
