A hand painted and hand potted Chinese porcelain that was made for the common man.A heavy round porcelain small plate with a bluish glaze and a crude dark blue underglaze cobalt of a peony scroll in the central medallion. The mouth has a border of a repeating egg-like pattern. There are double lines under the mouth border and around the central medallion. The underside has a pair of flower paintings.The plate has a slight cut unglazed foot ring with grit. The base is glazed. There is a mark as well as a Chinese resin or wax stamp on the base. There is also an old red and white paper label on the front, which we left on as an artifact.MEASUREMENTS 5 5/8a€ (14.3 cm) diameter x 15/16a€ (0.9 cm) tall. Weighs 6.8 oz (190 g)CONDITIONThere are manufacture flaws such as black spots, reserve spots, and painting smudges. There are wear scratches in the plate center.
