A naively painted small ram Staffordshire ceramic figure with painted horns.A low fired ceramic molded figure of a ram with white ceramic chips portraying the texture of his wool coat. The glaze is off white, smooth, and shiny with fine crazing. It has been decorated with cold painted black enamel. The painting was quick with a na?ˉve style. The horns were painted on instead of being part of the mold. The feet are like little smudges and they left some smudges on the back base of the figure. There is a yellow or gold line at the front base. The base has a hole mid center for firing. The base and foot are glazed. There are no marks or labels.MEASUREMENTS 3 1/8a€ (7.9 cm) long x 1 ??a€ (3.8 cm) deep x 2 3/8a€ (5.9 cm) tall. Weighs 3.5 oz (100 g)CONDITION There are large crazing lines on the base and back. This maybe a fracture, although it doesna€?t go through. There are patches of wool that are bare. This could be a manufacture flaw, as the areas dona€?t have a broken off look.A funny little old sheep that is endearing in its simplicity and naivety. A fun piece to add to your collection.___________________Item ID: Pot-1732
