Designer: Utagawa Hiroshige III 1842–1894, sometimes working with other artists of the Utagawa school such as Kuniaki II (also known as Kunisada II, 1823–1880. Publisher: Several publishers were involved, depending on the sheet. The prints depict famous landscapes and urban views of Edo Tokyo, very much in the tradition of Hiroshige I’s earlier meisho (famous place) series, but with contemporary Edo/early Meiji references. Date c. 1862–1864 late Edo, right before the Meiji Restoration in 1868.
