Description: Glazed stoneware. China, late Ming dynasty to Transition
A spherically shaped pot with eight lobes. The cobalt blue painting shows a scaled, meandering dragon with a very expressively painted head with many cloud vortexes in between. This painting is reminiscent of the Wanli period (until 1619) but could also be from the very early Qing dynasty (from 1644).
