Description: Amber. China, 19th – early 20th century
Wide-shouldered form with short neck, the honey-yellow amber featuring fine, scattered inclusions. On each side is bat, fu, in relief, symbolic of luck and prosperity. The latter is also signified by the cord with the round coins, although money, qian, was also considered an amulet against illness-causing demons. The stopper is made of red coral set in silver, with the spoon also made of silver.

Condition: Good condition with slight signs of age and wear, minimal scratches as well as a notch are visible; some green patina on the metal part of the lid; traces of glue on the lid rim is visible
