Description: Terracotta. Ecuador, Chorrera culture, ca. 5th cent. BCE (dated), TL-test
A very rare piece. The bird’s head is spherical and large, the wings’ form stylized. The chest is green in color, the tail a shaft-shaped handle. The Chorrera culture was located in the province of Guayas in Ecuador and exercised considerable influence from around 1300 to 300 BCE. This piece has been TL tested. The age provided here is confirmed by the German laboratory Kotalla’s report no. 04280607 from 2007.
