A gold Imari porcelain cup
Japan, circa 1710-1730
With lobed rim and ribbed interior standing on a high footring, decorated in iron-red, black, green, aubergine and gold, with a central medallion design of pine branches and blossoming cherry, two perched birds and clouds, surrounded by three fruit bearing branches, the exterior decorated with cloud shaped partitions with flower sprays, foliate scrolls, paulownia branches and two phoenixes.
Diam. 11.5 cm. height 6.5 cm.
