拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: Height 26.38 inches, Length 22.05 inches, Width 11.81 inchesWeight: 62.39 lbs (Original: 56.6 jin; 1 jin = 1.1023 lbs)(Original dimensions: 67cm x 56cm x 30cm; 1 inch = 2.54cm) A magnificent and museum-quality imperial Buddhist sculpture, exemplifying the pinnacle of Qianlong-period (1736-1795) court craftsmanship. Carved with extraordinary precision and artistic dynamism, this piece depicts a wrathful deity (likely a Dharma Protector or Vajra Warrior) whose fierce countenance is rendered with striking vividness—three eyes glare intensely forward, jaws clenched to reveal bared fangs, and facial muscles taut with righteous anger, capturing the essence of a divine being subduing ignorance and evil. The deity’s hair blazes upward in fiery tufts, dyed in a deep indigo-blue (ganqing) hue, with each strand meticulously cast to showcase lifelike texture and volume. Adorning the head is an elaborate skull crown (kapala-mukuta), symbolizing transcendence over mortality and the cycle of samsara. Every detail of the sculpture is executed with masterful realism: coiled serpents wind through the hair and around the chest, their scales and sinewy forms vividly rendered; a tiger-skin loincloth wraps the waist, its fur texture and muscular contours captured with remarkable precision—each element serving as a powerful symbol of the deity’s dominion over wild forces and spiritual mastery. Flowing silk ribbons (pibo) cascade dynamically from the shoulders, their billowing forms infusing the sculpture with a sense of celestial movement, while intricate pearl-bead necklaces (yingluo) and armlets (chuanzhuo) adorn the torso, their delicate craftsmanship enhancing the deity’s regal and opulent aura. The sculpture rests atop a grand and dignified double-tiered lotus throne (padmasana), featuring plain, neatly arranged downward-curving petals (fu lian) with slightly upturned tips—executed with rigorous symmetry and refinement. A subtle bulge along the lower edge of the lotus base is a hallmark characteristic of Qianlong imperial Buddhist sculpture, confirming its authentic court origin. Crafted with the meticulous attention to detail and symbolic depth that defined Qing court art, this sculpture represents a rare fusion of artistic excellence, religious symbolism, and imperial provenance. Its powerful visual impact, superior craftsmanship, and historical significance make it an exceptional acquisition for discerning collectors of Asian art, Buddhist iconography, or imperial Chinese artifacts. Ideal for museum-quality display or as the centerpiece of a distinguished collection, it stands as a timeless testament to the artistic achievements of the Qianlong era.
