Finely carved with a demoniac figure with arms folded, the whole body covered with vegetation, wooden stand.
Provenance: Acquired before 1975.
According to Vanna Ghirindelli (Kris Hilts. Masterpieces of South-East Asian Art, Milan 2011, p. 40), this type of figure might be a minor Hindu god of vegetation. The style of carving is from the North-Eastern coast of Java/ Madura.
