Description: Paul Jacoulet (FRENCH / JAPAN, 1902 - 1960) original woodblock etching titled "Souvenirs d'Autrofois Japon" or "Memories of the Past Japan". Depicts an elder woman in red kimono seated on pillow and holding a Bunraku doll. Pencil signed to lower left with red sparrow chop seal mark. Stamped with Kentaro Maeda carver mark and Shunosuke Fujii printer mark to lower right with title. Published July 10, 1941. Mounted in a goldtone frame with fabric matting behind a glass screen. Measures 16" height by 12 1/2" width plus 3 1/2" frame and mat. Provenance: Acquired from a Palm Beach, Florida estate. Originally purchased by the estate atRobert C. Eldred Co., Inc.
