Description: Paul Jacoulet (FRENCH / JAPAN, 1902 - 1960) original woodblock etching titled "LE MARIE Seoul, Coree" or "GROOM Seoul, Korea". Depicts a seated young man holding a wooden wedding duck; and on his head a peacockfeather plumed red ceremonial wedding hat. Pencil signed to lower right with red owl chop seal mark. Stamped title to lower right with black chop seal marks of the carver Kentaro Maeda and printer Yoshizo Onotera.Published November 12, 1950. Mounted in a gold tone frame with fabric matting behind a glass screen. Measures 16" height by 12 1/2" width plus 3 1/2" frame and mat. Provenance: Acquired from a Palm Beach, Florida estate.
