D :60cm This Ming Dynasty Blue-and-White Plate with Double Dragon-and-Cloud Pattern is a classic imperial blue-and-white piece of the Xuande period, extremely rare in existence and still precious even with jug repairs. It features an open mouth, shallow curved belly and ring foot, made of solid and fine Macang clay body with moist, blue-tinted glaze. The entire plate is decorated with double dragon-and-cloud patterns using "Sumaliqing" cobalt : the dragons are vigorous and vivid (sharp five claws, flying dragon whiskers), accompanied by cloud patterns; the blue-and-white color is rich and profound with natural rust spots, fully demonstrating the Xuande blue-and-white feature of "robust, rich and layered". Jug repairs are visible on the body, a natural state in the circulation of ancient wares, and it remains a top-tier treasure of Ming blue-and-white porcelain.
