H :9cm W :15.5cm This Qing Qianlong Bronze Box with High-Relief Dragon-and-Sea Pattern is a fine imperial bronze utensil of the Qianlong period. It takes the form of a flat round box, made of pure copper, and fully decorated with high-relief dragon-and-sea patterns : the main pattern on the lid is a five-clawed ascending dragon, which is vigorous and majestic, accompanied by auspicious clouds and sea patterns; the box body is also decorated with interlocking dragon patterns. The dense but layered patterns and exquisite carving fully demonstrate the craftsmanship standard of Qianlong bronze utensils—"exquisite, magnificent and richly decorated". Intact in form with a thick patina, it is a typical representative of Qianlong imperial decorative utensils. It embodies the production techniques of Qing imperial bronze utensils and the cultural symbol of imperial power, and is an important object for studying Qianlong metal craftsmanship, court aesthetics and ritual utensils, with extremely high historical, artistic and collection value.
