H :17.5cm W :14cm This Ming Wanli Blue-and-White Ewer with Lotus Pattern and Silver Mounts is a fine late-Ming porcelain-silver combined utensil, rare in existence. It takes the form of an ewer with an open mouth, drooping belly and ring foot, made of solid porcelain body with white, moist blue-tinted glaze. The ewer body is decorated with blue-and-white lotus patterns, featuring elegant and vivid motifs, and the foot is adorned with geometric panel patterns—fully demonstrating the Wanli blue-and-white feature of "sparse painting and elegant interest". The rim, spout and handle are all mounted with silver, which has a naturally aged patina; the porcelain-silver combination craftsmanship is neat, reflecting the Ming Dynasty’s "porcelain with metal mounts" technical innovation.
