H :48.5cm W :20cm This Qing Kangxi Blue-and-White Stick-Shaped Vase with Figure Story Pattern is a classic blue-and-white figure porcelain form of the Kangxi period; the later-added brass base enhances its decorative charm. It takes the stick shape with an open mouth, straight neck, full shoulder and straight belly, made of solid fine white body with a moist blue-tinted glaze. The body is decorated with blue-and-white figure story patterns (vivid scenes and lifelike characters) accompanied by courtyard and flower landscapes; the blue-and-white color shows rich layers ("five shades of ink"), and the rim is adorned with key fret border patterns, fully demonstrating the Kangxi blue-and-white feature of "exquisite painting and profound artistic conception". Intact in form with good condition, it is one of the core categories of Qing scholar’s studio and hall decorations.
