H :25cm W :9cm This Qing Kangxi Blue-and-White Pipa Vase with Figure Story Pattern is a fine blue-and-white figure porcelain piece of the Kangxi period. It takes the pipa form with an open mouth, constricted neck, drooping belly and tall foot, made of solid fine white body with a moist blue-tinted glaze. The body is decorated with blue-and-white figure story patterns (vivid images of ladies and elders) accompanied by pine stones and trees; the blue-and-white color shows rich layers ("five shades of ink"), and the rim and foot are adorned with geometric and interlocking patterns, fully demonstrating the Kangxi blue-and-white feature of "exquisite painting and profound artistic conception".
