30x30cm 来源:马来西亚收藏家旧藏 This rare work is among the few executed in ink on black slate by Datuk Ibrahim Hussein. Discernible female nudes emerge through bold cross-hatching and parallel-line markings, applied with spontaneity and confidence, reflecting the artist’s experimental approach and mastery of line. Datuk Ibrahim Hussein (1936–2009) studied at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Art, Singapore (1956), and later graduated from the Byam Shaw School of Drawing and Painting (1959–1963) and the Royal Academy Schools, London (1963–1966). He participated in the Venice Biennale in 1970 and was featured in a landmark 1977 exhibition alongside Andy Warhol and Salvador Dalí in Kuwait. A major retrospective was held at the National Art Gallery, Malaysia, in 1986. Among his honours are the Japan Foundation Cultural Award (1988) and the Anugerah Tokoh Terbilang (2007).
