Displays a pair of peony flowers on leafy stems. Each side of the octagonal pillow is accented by carved line work in geometric patterns. The reverse displays a small hole to hold incense. By consignor provenance this pillow is stated to be 11th-12th century, Song dynasty. Stated to be from Michael Dunn, personal friend of Ai Wei Wei. Dimensions: pillow measures approx. 10.75" w x 7.5" d x 4.375" h.
