This music stand was owned by Johnsie Bason Burnham, who was a suffragist from New York. The stand was used by her as a violinist at the Metropolitan Orchestra at the Musical Union in New York. After a series of conferences, the union bowed to the will of the suffragists and allowed women to play. Dimensions are: 47" tall, 17" wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Some damage and repairs to fretwork music rest. Missing two of the wire supports for music books.
