L:3.7cmW:2.5cmWeight:10g Craft Tradition: Steppe Nomadic Granulation Goldsmith Craft Material: Solid High-Karat Yellow Gold, Natural Oval Cabochon Turquoise Description: Exceptional figural bird plaque crafted using the revered ancient granulation technique, an apex of early nomadic goldworking artistry. The entire bird form is articulated by countless micro gold granules arranged in parallel and concentric rows to mimic layered plumage, with raised rosette granule accents defining facial contours. At the bird’s core, a smooth oval cabochon turquoise is securely bezel-set, its vivid sky-blue hue contrasting dramatically against warm granular gold. All tiny gold beads remain fully intact with no detachment, retaining the original fine precision of hand-welded granulation. A rare intact example of Central Asian Silk Road avian gold ornament, combining masterful historic metalwork and precious natural turquoise.
