拍品描述 翻译
Alexander McQueen. As seen on Jessica Alba, an Alexander McQueen iconic bustier gown of emerald green flat chiffon bustier dress featuring a sweetheart neckline and draped detailing, detailed with a back zipped closure, 100% silk, of Italian size 44 (approx. UK size 10/12) Grade B Notes: The Alexander McQueen bustier gown is regarded as one of the defining silhouettes of modern fashion, embodying the House's distinctive fusion of romanticism, technical precision and theatrical drama. Characterised by its sculpted corseted bodice, sharply defined waist and voluminous skirt, the design celebrates the female form while demonstrating the exceptional craftsmanship for which Alexander McQueen is renowned. Since its introduction, the silhouette has become a red-carpet staple, worn by celebrities including Cate Blanchett, Lady Gaga, Naomi Campbell and Sarah Jessica Parker, and has been reinterpreted across numerous collections. The original concept of the sculptural bustier gown was developed by Lee Alexander McQueen (1969–2010), the British designer who founded his eponymous fashion house in 1992. McQueen was deeply inspired by Victorian dress, historical corsetry, and Savile Row tailoring, using these references to create garments that combined structure with fluidity. His designs challenged conventional ideas of beauty, transforming the corset from a restrictive undergarment into an empowering architectural element of the garment. Following McQueen's death in 2010, Sarah Burton, his long-time collaborator and successor as Creative Director, refined and elevated the bustier gown into one of the House's enduring signatures. Burton softened McQueen's often provocative aesthetic with exquisite couture craftsmanship, intricate embroidery, and romantic fabrics while preserving the dramatic silhouette. Under her direction, the bustier gown became synonymous with contemporary elegance and remains one of the most recognisable designs produced by the House, exemplifying the legacy of Lee Alexander McQueen's vision and the continued evolution of the brand.
