拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions:Height 5 cm (1.97 in); diameter 9 cm (3.54 in); 11th–12th centuryondition & Provenance:Overall well preserved with a balanced profile and no obvious major cracks, rim losses, or repairs visible. The interior and exterior retain extensive natural craquelure, while the celadon-blue and rose-purple kiln-transmutation colors remain vivid and well defined. The exposed foot shows normal firing, trimming, and age-related surface characteristics. Provenance: Private collection, Hong Kong, retained in the collection for more than fifty years.Description:This compact tea bowl is finely potted with a gently incurving mouth, deep rounded sides, and a narrow circular foot. Its softly swelling profile is substantial yet comfortable in scale, reflecting the practical elegance associated with tea wares of the Song and Jin periods. The bowl is covered inside and out with a richly varied Jun-type transmutation glaze, built on a softly luminous celadon-blue ground and dramatically enlivened by broad passages of rose-purple coloration. The purple areas flow across the surface like drifting clouds, merging naturally into the blue glaze rather than forming hard boundaries. Within these splashes, tones shift from deep violet and rose-purple to smoky lavender and blue-violet, creating the layered, atmospheric color effects for which Jun ware is celebrated. Along the rim, where the glaze thins, a warm buff tone subtly emerges and defines the contour of the vessel. The entire glazed surface is covered with a dense network of fine natural craquelure, clearly visible through both the blue and purple passages and adding depth and texture to the otherwise smooth, glossy surface. The underside is supported on an exposed foot ring of reddish-brown to iron-brown body material, neatly trimmed and clearly differentiated from the thick glaze above. The center of the foot retains firing and age-related traces, while the glaze terminates naturally around the foot. Jun ceramics are especially admired for their unpredictable kiln-transmutation effects, in which blue, lavender, and copper-derived purple tones merge during firing to create surfaces that cannot be precisely repeated. This bowl is particularly striking for the broad distribution of its rose-purple splashes against the celadon-blue ground, giving the small vessel a strong visual presence while preserving the restrained, sculptural form associated with Song–Jin tea culture. The combination of compact proportions, luminous blue glaze, expansive purple transmutation, and fine craquelure gives the bowl the quiet drama and painterly surface quality that make Jun ware especially appealing to American collectors of early Chinese ceramics.
