拍品描述 翻译
Condition and Provenance: Both pieces are structurally intact. The Southern Song Dynasty Hutian Five-Spouted Vase has all five pipes intact, with an everted mouth and slight signs of soil wear. The glaze exhibits fine, natural crackle patterns, and the exposed area of the mouth shows signs of ancient soil crusting. There are no cracks or signs of modern repair/re-glazing. The Yuan-Ming Dynasty Longquan Figurine Water Dropper is undamaged in its figure, body, and spout. The glaze displays natural ice crackle patterns. Ancient glaze peeling and soil erosion are visible on the folds of the clothing and raised areas such as the mouth. The unglazed base is thick and shows discoloration of the soil and traces of iron-red firing, as well as remnants of ancient soil deposits. There are no cracks, signs of modern bonding, re-glazing, or artificial aging. Both pieces retain the patina naturally formed at the time of excavation. Both pieces come from private collections in New York and San Francisco, California. The Hutian Five-Spouted Vase was purchased from a Chinese antique dealer many years ago. This Longquan water dropper was acquired in 2002 by a celadon expert collector from an antique gallery in Hong Kong. Both pieces have been kept in temperature-controlled cabinets for private research and appreciation, and have never been auctioned or publicly exhibited. Description: Southern Song Dynasty Hutian Five-Spout Vase, made in Hutian Kiln, Jingdezhen. The vase is shaped like a tall, plate-like vessel with five upright hollow tubes inside. The body is made of fine white porcelain and covered with a semi-transparent, soft glaze. This vase could be used for burning incense or arranging flowers, and was an exquisite decorative item in the study of Song Dynasty literati. Similar pieces are rare and can be considered a representative work of Hutian porcelain. Yuan-Ming Dynasty Longquan Water Dropper: A vessel used by literati in their studies for grinding ink. The vase has a three-dimensional shape, with a figure holding a drum. The details of the clothing and face are simply and rustically depicted. The drum body is decorated with scrolling grass patterns and has a short spout, placed on a solid rectangular base. The thick, soft celadon glaze is covered with delicate self-grown crackles. Literati-style porcelain sculptures unearthed from Longquan kilns are relatively rare, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship and literati aesthetics of ceramic sculpture during the Yuan and Ming dynasties. Despite slight signs of historical burial and use, these two porcelain pieces retain their complete form and possess significant academic and collectible value in ancient Chinese ceramics.
