拍品描述 翻译
Dimensions: Diameter 12.5 cm (4.92 inches), Height 7.3 cm (2.87 inches), Song Dynasty (10th-13th century AD). Condition and Provenance: This incense burner is in excellent condition, without any minor cracks, damage, or signs of repair. The glaze exhibits natural crackle patterns of varying depths across its entire surface. Over the centuries, a soft, brownish patina has naturally seeped into the crackle lines. The original small nail marks on the base are well-preserved, and the clay and glaze are tightly bonded. The rim shows only slight wear due to long-term use and has not undergone modern polishing or chemical aging treatment. This incense burner was consigned for auction by a renowned antique gallery in Hong Kong many years ago and entered the private collection of a Song Dynasty ceramics expert in Florida, USA in 2009. Hong Kong, Florida, and Toronto were important global trading centers for Chinese ceramics before the Yuan Dynasty. Description: This rice-glazed Ru ware tripod incense burner was a royal incense burner used in the study of Song Dynasty literati. Modeled after Han Dynasty bronze lotus vessels, it is a representative example of high-grade Song Dynasty celadon ritual objects. The incense burner has a straight cylindrical body with a flat rim. The walls are decorated with two sets of raised bowstring patterns, and the base has three short, animal-shaped feet. The overall design is dignified and simple, perfectly embodying the understated aesthetic values favored by Song Dynasty literati. The entire body is covered with a thick, smooth, rice-grain-colored Ru ware glaze, with densely distributed golden-yellow crackles—a hallmark of Ru ware. Five tiny, sesame-seed-like kiln footprints are visible on the bottom, a classic Ru ware firing technique where small kiln feet are used to support the glaze and maintain its integrity, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship. Extant Ru ware pieces are extremely rare. This three-legged lotus-shaped incense burner is a classic Ru ware form, widely used for incense burning in ancient studies and as an elegant decorative item. Having survived for thousands of years, the glaze has developed a natural, rustic patina; all colors are due to the passage of time, without any artificial embellishment. This piece combines top-notch Song Dynasty ceramic craftsmanship, Neo-Confucian aesthetics, and extremely high cultural value. It is highly sought after by Song Dynasty porcelain collectors and private museums worldwide and can be considered a benchmark in the field of ancient Chinese ceramics collecting.
