Dimensions: 15 cm (5.91 inches) in diameter, 16.5 cm (6.50 inches) in height, 17th-19th century Qing Dynasty scholar's bamboo carving. Condition and Provenance: This brush pot is in excellent condition, without cracks, damage, or signs of repair. The natural bamboo grain is clearly visible, covered with a thick, smooth, aged patina. The deep relief details of the figures, mountains, and pine trees are complete, without wear or cracks. The three feet are sturdy and original, with natural signs of age on the rim and base, untouched by modern polishing or refurbishment. This brush pot originally belonged to a traditional scholar's family in Jiangnan and is now in the collection of a private woodware museum in Manhattan, New York. New York is a global center for the trading of antique wood and bamboo artifacts. Description: This Qing Dynasty bamboo brush pot is an exquisite scholar's desk ornament, carved from a single thick piece of ancient bamboo. The body tapers slightly in the middle, widening and reinforcing the top and bottom, supported by three small square feet, giving it a stable and elegant overall shape. This piece is entirely decorated with deep relief carvings depicting travelers strolling through the mountains. Steep, layered rocks contrast beautifully with the lush pine and cypress trees. Two horseback riders, their expressions vivid and their clothing flowing, form the center of the scene, while small forest animals add life to the composition. The carver skillfully blends deep relief, round carving, and openwork techniques to create a captivating three-dimensional effect, adhering to the compositional principles of classical Chinese landscape painting. Over the years, the bamboo surface has developed a uniform, warm reddish-brown luster. This piece represents the pinnacle of Qing Dynasty bamboo carving craftsmanship, combining practical tabletop functionality, exceptional sculptural artistic value, and extremely high antique collectible value. Dimensions: Top length 25.5 cm (10.04 inches), height 16 cm (6.30 inches), 17th-19th century Qing Dynasty folk woodenware. Condition and Provenance: The barrel structure is intact, with no obvious cracks; only slight wear on the edges due to decades of use. The natural wood grain is clearly visible. All four sides are fully engraved with the characters "招财" (meaning "bringing in wealth") and decorated with exquisite borders. The arched handles are original, with a sturdy mortise and tenon structure. The bottom has only a small, dark old lacquer stain, without any modern repairs or artificial staining. This piece was unearthed from a private collection in northern China and is now housed in a private folk woodware collection in Houston, Texas, USA. Texas and New York are centers of international trade in Chinese antique wooden folk crafts. Description: This Qing Dynasty Nanmu (Southern China) grain measuring bucket serves the dual function of an ancient grain measuring tool and an auspicious home decoration. The bucket body gradually narrows from a wide, square top to a bottom, using a mortise and tenon structure and equipped with an arched wooden handle for easy lifting. All four sides are decorated with diamond-shaped borders, engraved with the characters "招财进宝" (meaning "bringing in wealth and treasures"), and the borders are decorated with delicate grass patterns, with simple, smooth lines and a rustic, natural feel. This grain bucket is made of dense Nanmu wood, with rich and natural grain, and the surface is covered with a translucent amber patina, a mark left by hundreds of years of daily use. The interior also retains traces of time. In traditional Chinese culture, grain buckets symbolize a bountiful harvest and the source of wealth. With its symmetrical shape and complete preservation of auspicious folk patterns, this highly representative antique wooden artifact is an ideal choice for display and cultural collection.
